Our Space

Saint Stephen offers two private dining rooms - the Acqua Dining Room and the Artist Nook. The artist Nook is semi-private with a complete view of the StS kitchen. The Acqua Room is the newly redone space that will house the upcoming Acqua dining Room. The clean, minimalist aesthetic of the restaurant provides the perfect backdrop for both corporate and social events.

Our seasonal menu is carefully crafted by Chef/Owner RJ Cooper and his Culinary Team using local, organic ingredients to reflect the spirit of StS.

The team will work closely with you to tailor our menu to suit your needs - from a three-course business luncheon, to passed canapes for an after-work happy hour, or an extended tasting menu for a celebratory dinner.

The Culinary Teams knowledge and expert crafts people allows us great flexibility maintaining any desired event timeline. Whether you're looking to host an intimate business dinner and presentation for ten or a festive reception for 120 guests, our private dining team will be happy to help you create any event. 

Our patio is another option for a private event, weather permitting. 

Chef & Owner RJ Cooper

He has a true passion for food, which was honed from a very young age. Just as some have a photographic mind and can remember everything they see, RJ has it for his palette - he can remember everything he tastes.

His passion and palette have taken him around the country. In Detroit, he grew up eating Coney dogs, Geek salads, and his mom's fried chicken. In culinary school at Kendall College in Chicago, as a poor student, his meals mostly consisted of deep dish pizza and Chicago hot dogs... although he would occasionally get to taste caviar and truffles while working at Spiaggia. After graduation, RJ's culinary journey continued to places like NYC (bagels & lox, pastrami in rye), Atlanta ($1 sushi, Waffle House), and Alaska (halibut, salmon, king crab legs). 

RJ won the James Beard Award for Best Chef Mid Atlantic and owned 2 restaurants in Washington DC.

He now calls Nashville his home & is a firm believer in using local fresh ingredients to create dishes inspired by his years of cross country adventures. Saint Stephen, his restaurant in the vibrant Germantown neighborhood, is no exception to this belief.

With an ever changing seasonal menu, RJ is crafting new adventures for every palette. 

Chef Appearance

We will gladly arrange for Chef/Owner RJ Cooper to appear at your event.

Flowers and Decor

StS provides simple arrangements with an added fee.

Flower color and variety are subject to change without notice, based on seasonal availability. 

We would be happy to coordinate flowers for you from our preferred vendor or you are welcome to bring in any florist of your choosing. 

For dinner events, we provide votive candles on the tables and around the perimeter of the private dining rooms.

Audio Visual Equipment

Both the Acqua Room and The Artist Nook are not equipped with audio/visual. StS may coordinate the equipment for a $350 fee.

Menu Printing

We prepare menus for each private dining event which can be customized with your corporate logo or personal menu heading.

Off-Site Catering

StS specializes in off-site catering events of any size and style. Whether you are catering an event in your office or planning a party in your home, we will provide you with the STS experience.

From simple drop off and set up to party equipment and staff, we are capable of making all of your off-site events elegant and with ease. Menus can be tailored to needs of your event.
